A modern likeness of Sailor Jerry, this week’s artist of the week reigns supreme in the style of American Traditional and is world renown for his skill in this category.

Oliver Peck was born July 29, 1971 in Dallas, Texas. His tattoo career began at the age of 19, and he pursued training in the American Traditional style. With little known about the early stages of his art career, he is now a world-renown artist, having worked in Japan, Ireland, England, Norway, Sweden, and Italy. Peck owns shops Elm St. Tattoo (operating in Dallas, Texas for over 20 years) and True Tattoo in Los Angeles, not to mention he has produced designs for Vans.

He was first seen on television nationally on Miami Ink, where he was visiting his then-wife Kat Von D, who was working as an artist in the Miami Ink shop. The couple was married in 2003 and remained so until their separation in 2007, which followed by a divorce in 2008.

Beyond his famous ex, Oliver Peck holds a Guinness World Record for the most tattooed varieties of the number 13 in a 24 hour period (415!). He is currently most well-known for his seat at the judges’ table on Spike’s Ink Master. Oliver Peck is one of three judges who has critiqued and eliminated artists since the show's inception in 2012.

Complete with waist-length hair and handlebar mustache, Oliver Peck is surely a tattoo badass to watch. Check out some of his portfolio work here!
